Attorney
Halperin Petersen & Mikkilineni, a litigation firm built by former leaders of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Enforcement Division to do the work the federal government abandoned, is seeking a litigator with at least three years of experience. HPM brings cutting-edge strategic litigation against predatory corporate practices and abuses of power--partnering with state attorneys general, advocacy organizations, and private co-counsel to deliver immediate relief and drive systemic change across the economy.
The successful candidate will join a five-attorney team that launched the firm this year. Self-starters who want to help build a firm that does high-impact work on behalf of working people harmed by predatory corporate practices will thrive.
The firm seeks candidates with strong analytical and writing skills and a demonstrated commitment to consumer protection, civil rights, or workers’ rights. Class action experience is preferred. Applicants should be prepared to take a lead role in developing new cases and in all aspects of litigation.
Salary will range from $100,000 - $170,000, depending on experience, with the possibility of a bonus. The firm offers comprehensive benefits. This is a hybrid position located in Washington, DC. Remote candidates outside of DC will be considered.
To be considered, please submit a cover letter, resume, and legal writing sample to info@hpmjustice.com with the subject line “Attorney Position.” Candidates who wish to work remotely should note that in their cover letter. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
